Succesful Funding Applications

We have assisted Herefordshire football clubs, schools and organisations to successfully apply to the Football Foundation for funding to deliver football projects that are designed to increase participation in football.

You can view the successful projects by clicking on the link on the right. You will then need to scroll through the document to find the Herefordshire projects.

The projects all have an emphasis on attracting NEW players to the game, creation of NEW teams and increasing the number of FA qualified volunteers who can support this activity long term beyond the duration of Football Foundation funding.

The Football Foundation are currently assessing over 20 Small Grant Scheme applications recently submitted by Herefordshire football clubs, schools and organisations that are designed to increase participation in football.

This potentially equates to a further £140,000 of investment coming into the County before the end of 2007 to further develop football.

FLIGHTS TAKE OFF

The Flights Residents Association Football Inclusion project took off the launch pad yesterday evening (20/08/07) following a successful funding application bid to the Football Foundation that has secured nearly £10,000 over 3 years to develop football opportunities in Credenhill for local children and adults designed to address anti social behaviour by offering regular and sustainable access to local football coaching leading to the formation of new teams and FA qualified volunteers.

With Herefordshire FA coaches on hand to deliver the first of many coaching sessions the launch got off to the perfect start with over 30 local children and adults attending.

Paul Carpenter the Herefordshire FA's Football Development Officer said

''It is tremendous to see so many youngsters and adults here taking part in the new football activity. Hopefully we can build on this and encourage more to attend as the project rolls out over the next few weeks. I must congratulate and thank in particular Ros Williams chair of the Flights Residents Association, Richard Hancock and Karen Pritchard of Kemble Housing in association with West Mercia Housing who originally came to me with the vision for the project. Following our first meeting we quickly put together the application supported by a 3 year project development plan and here we are now with the project underway''.
