FA Level 1 Goalkeeping Coaching Award
The Level 1 goalkeeping award is a 3 day course aimed at coaches who wish to learn the basic "technical" aspects of goalkeeping. Practical topics include specific goalkeeping warm ups and cool downs, footwork, the "set" position, general handling techniques, diving saves - catching / deflecting / parrying, dealing with 1v1, and Dealing with crosses. Theory includes the "key technical aspects of goalkeeping" and long term player development (LTPD). Child Protection and Emergency Aid modules also form part of the course. To gain certification candidates are required to pass an assessment.

FA Level 2 Certificate in Goalkeeper Coaching
The Level 2 Certificate in Goalkeeper coaching is for coaches over the age of 16 who hold the FA Level 2 Certificate in coaching football and are working with a team and who wish to coach goalkeepers at Non-league or Junior/Youth levels. Practical elements of the course will include warm ups, cool downs, footwork, general handling techniques, shot stopping, dealing with crosses, distribution and communication. Theoretical elements of the course will cover the role of the goalkeeper coach, development of young goalkeepers and growth & development. To gain certification candidates are required to pass an assessment.

Our HFA Introduction to Goalkeeper Coaching workshops delivered throughout the year and are designed to support coaches who wish to gain more knowledge about goalkeeper coaching. The workshops include:

HFA Junior Goalkeeper Coaching Workshop
Junior Goalkeepers attending this workshop will receive specialist goalkeeper coaching designed to improve individual technique and understanding of this specialist position. Participants also have the opportunity to receive continual ongoing assessment.

'Pilot' Junior & Adult Goalkeeper Coaching Centre
We intend to a HFA Junior & Adult Goalkeeper Coaching Centre during 2008 that will aim to support club and school goalkeepers for an initial period of 6 - 8 weeks.
