FA Emergency First Aid Certificate
The FA Emergency Aid Certificate is for all coaches, medics and referees in football where youngsters are involved, including where Under 18s are playing adult football. For those involved with Charter Standard or taking coaching, medical and refereeing qualifications, Emergency Aid is mandatory. The topics covered in this course include approach to an incident, checking responses, opening the airway, checking the pulse, recovery position, breathing for the casualty, chest compressions, resuscitation, dressing of wounds and heart attacks.

First Aid for Sport Course
This new course is intended for people aged 16 and above who are actively involved in organised football. This comprehensive course is aimed at personnel acting as 'Manager', 'Coach', 'Trainer', or 'Therapist' for Amateur and Youth Clubs and for Teachers responsible for school teams. This course is designed for all levels of football and other sports.
The course will provide participants with the opportunity to gain fundamental knowledge and skills in order to recognise and manage common illnesses and injuries sustained in football and other sports and administer immediate "Non-Emergency" first aid care.
The course aim is to train a person in the basic knowledge of first aid. It will provide a person with the skills required to identify injuries and provide a level of first aid to prevent these injuries worsening by applying these first aid principles on the pitch side.

FA Level 2 Basic Certificate in the Treatment of Injuries
The FA’s Basic Course in the Treatment and Management of Injury is a foundation course open to anyone over the age of 16. It is aimed at personnel acting as ‘Manager’, ‘ Coach’, ‘Trainer’ or ‘Therapist’ for Amateur and Youth Clubs and for Teachers responsible for school teams. The course aims to train a person in the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to recognise and differentiate major from minor injury and the ability to offer basic treatment and injury management advice to a player who has sustained a major injury when playing football.
