The Herefordshire FA is looking for budding young female players to attend its Girls Football Skills Centre being launched in Hereford on Friday 8th January at the Point4 from 5.00pm - 6.00pm.
WHAT IS A SKILLS CENTRE?
As part of the Football Association’s drive to raise standards in 5-11 year old players, a new coaching opportunity has arisen to affect the long term development of the game.
Not only will players develop their skills with a football but they will also develop skills that will make them an all round better sports person.
This might include learning to run, catch, jump or dodge better, as well as improving their agility, balance and coordination skills.
WHO DOES THE COACHING?
The Skills Centre will be delivered by FA Qualified coaches who have experience of working with young children. All coaches have undergone First Aid training and have a CRB in place.
CAN MY DAUGHTER GO ON AND PLAY FOR A CLUB?
The Skills Centre is being delivered in partnership with a number of Hereford based football clubs who are trying, with support from the HFA, to develop their existing opportunities for girls to participate in football on a regular basis. There are opportunities for girls at U8, U10 and U12 to participate regularly and all Clubs are looking to recruit new players ready for the start of the 2010-2011 season. Girls do not have to have played football before - this is all about trying something new but will also help those who already play to improve and develop.
IS THERE A COST?
There is a small cost to attend the Skills Centre which goes towards covering the cost of the facilities, coaching and equipment. The Skills Centre is registered to the Herefordshire Football Association.
