Youth Councils raise over £900 for Breast Cancer Care!

On Monday the 9th of May the Herefordshire FA Youth Council took on The Worcestershire FA Youth Council in a series of Football Challenges in aid...

The event was organised by Herefordshire FA Football Development Officer, Jodie Williams, who is a member of The FA National Youth Council who have partnership fund-raising aims with Breast Cancer Care as The FA’s charity this season. Herefordshire and Worcestershire FA Youth Council members were asked to collected sponsor money and donations to collaborate together during the evening challenges. The event was a great success with The Worcestershire FA YC finishing on a lucky shot during the Cross-bar Challenge to defeat Herefordshire by 1 point; however the Herefordshire FA Youth Council were the best represented and battled hard right to the end!

The 2 groups then joined forces for a shared meeting to discuss best practise concepts and action plan ideas from this season. The money collected was counted up and it was announced that over £900 was raised with money still coming in until the end of the week! It was a fantastic way for both volunteer groups to work together in a fun and competitive way but also gain fund-raising experiences for a good cause. Jodie and The Youth Council’s would like to everyone who donated for this event.
