Dates Released for Upcoming Referees Course

Herefordshire FA are looking to recruit and train new referees for next season.

Thinking of becoming a referee? We are looking for interested people to take the FA Referees course and become qualified match officials for the 2017/18 season.

Refereeing is a great way to give something back to the game and the course is open to anyone aged 14 and over. Refereeing allows men and women, both young and old, the chance to stay fit, earn some extra money and get involved in local football. You can get involved and become a referee by attending our upcoming Introduction to Refereeing evening and Referees Course.

Introduction to Refereeing Evening

  • Wednesday 5th July
  • 7:00pm - 9:00pm
  • FREE

It is essential that anyone intending to take the FA Referees course first attends the Introduction To Refereeing Evening. This is being held at the Herefordshire FA HQ on the above date. This evening is mandatory and will outline the refereeing experience and give you a taster of the opportunities and benefits of refereeing. The main Referees Course (9v9 / 11v11) will be the aim but it will also cover opportunities in Mini Soccer and futsal if that suits you. After you have attended this evening and confirmed your interest in enrolling, we will send you a booking link for the main Referees Course

FA Referees Course

  • Sunday 13th August 9:00 -16:00
  • Wednesday 16th August 18:30 - 21:00
  • Sunday 20th August 9:00 - 16:00
  • £120.00 (Subsidy available for those directly entering adult football on completion of 5 matches)

The basic refereeing course will be held on the dates above. The course takes place over two days and one evening and contains a mixture of practical and classroom tuition and you will learn everything you need to know about refereeing. You will be given all your learning resources and necessary equipment in the first session. For The course costs just £120.00 and includes all tuition, a full Referee Kit, laws of the game book & DVD, whistles, match book, cards and much more (please see the FAQ's for all info).

Once you have started refereeing you will receive £15-£20 per match so can make your money back in just 6 games! For more information and a list of FAQ's on the referees course please see the documents below.
