How did Hereford Goals start?

@HerefordGoals - Hereford FC In Action, essentially started with a stroke of luck, after I (@Squinny4) managed to capture Nathan Hughes scoring the first ever goal for Hereford FC at Edgar Street Against FC United Of Manchester on Saturday 11th of July 2015.

For many years I would stand on the Meadow End, or where ever Hereford (United) were playing, phone in hand, recording any kind of Attacks, Corner or Throw Ins, with the hope of capturing a bit of magic on video, just to keep it share around with friends.

After capturing the goal and posting it on my social media accounts, I was contacted by Hereford FC asking if I would like to be granted pitch side access to matches to record the games, which was an amazing privilege after being a Bulls supporter for around 23 years.

I thought it was a tall task to try and do myself and get the best coverage I could, so I asked if I could have long time friend, Will Cheshire (@HFCChesh / www.willcheshirephotography.co.uk/) could help me.

With this, we linked @HerefordGoals and Hereford FC In Action (Facebook) together and would post Match Action of Videos and Pictures onto Social Media, for the Hereford FC fans across the globe to take in within minutes of it happening on the pitch.

We have also been fortunate enough to have gained an amazing Sponsor in Blue Line Taxis who have purchased us 3 GoPro Cameras to add how we capture footage.

What’s the best moment you’ve captured on camera at a Hereford game?

Personally, I think my favourite moment caught on Camera for Hereford Goals was John Mill's last minute winner against Camberley which put Hereford FC into the Semi Final of the FA Vase.

Being so late in the game it was just such a rush when that ball slipped into the net. Even more so with the Meadow End behind us. The scenes from the Fans was amazing!

Have you got a favourite goal from the past two seasons?

My favourite goal from the past two seasons is probably Rob Purdie's opener away against Alvechurch in the League.

The goal gave Hereford a good start and a bit of breathing room as we battled against The Church who were tough rivals in the Midland League for our first season. Thinking back, Martin Horsell's Penalty Save in the same game was also a pivotal moment in the season.

What are you most looking forward to in the 2017/18 season?

Just seeing where we go next really.

I'd love us to gain a third promotion on the trot, but I know it's going to be a huge test in the Southern League Premier and every opposition is going to be looking to take the Hereford FC scalp.

The squad Peter Beadle has pulled together this year seems a great mixture of youth and speed and I think we'll be a tough team to break through. But saying that, I'm very surprised to see some bookies have picked us to be Favourites to win the league.

I would say I'm most looking forward to travelling to Merthyr. On a personal note I have family there so it's always good to see them. Then there's a bit of a rivalry between the two clubs. Plus a few players playing for each side that have been at the other club previously. They've done some good work and upgrades to their ground since we last travelled there for a friendly back in the 15/16 season.

What’s next for Hereford Goals?

At the moment, we're just going to keep doing what we do, and that's to aim to bring Match Action from pretty much all home and away Hereford FC games.

If we do manage to get promotion this year, things will have to be a little different next season as you have to wait 24 hours before posting any Video Media when you're playing in the National League / South / North

Where can people see your footage?

All our footage goes straight onto our Twitter feed first, @HerefordGoals. Where it then feeds over to our Facebook Page which is Hereford FC In Action.

Then after the games we pull all our videos from the phones and GoPros together and upload them onto the Hereford FC YouTube Channel.
