HFA County Cup

Weekend Fixture Picks 16th & 17th March

Our weekly round up of the key clashes and battles from across the HFA County League

Want to go and watch some local football this weekend? We've picked out some key fixtures spread across Friday-Sunday for you to check out in the County League and HFA Cups

Premier: Clee Hill vs Kingstone Rovers

Title chasers Clee Hill are hopefully back in action this week after their game against Tenbury was postponed last week giving them another game in hand over their title rivals. On Saturday they meet Kingstone Rovers, in the first of the meetings between these two sides this March. County Cup Semi-Finalists Kingstone Rovers are another side with plenty of games in hand giving them the potential to rise through the table.

Division 1: Hinton Reserves vs Ludlow Town Colts

Last weekend the two big fixtures involving the top four teams in Division 1 were both postponed due to the bad weather. Two of them are back up against each other on Saturday as Ludlow Town Colts travel to Broomy Hill. Ludlow Town Colts come into this one still unbeaten this season, and having triumphed 3-1 against Hinton in the reverse. Hinton have been without a game for 2 weeks so should turn up eager to inflict a first defeat on the Shropshire side.

Division 2: Belmont Rangers vs Bromyard Downs

Bromyard Downs make the trip to Belmont Abbey this week to play Belmont Rangers hoping to maintain the positive momentum they have gathered in recent weeks. Bromyards only losses in 2019 have been against title contenders Dore Valley and Lads Club colts, and they have scored 25 goals in their last 5 games. Belmont Rangers will be the team looking to shut them out and add to the 6 wins they have already picked up in their debut season.

Sunday: Credenhill Rangers vs The Lion

After winning the league with games to spare, this Sunday sees Leominster outfit The Lion receive their Sunday League crown at their final game of the season. With an impressive record of 14 wins and 1 loss after 15 games, they could potentially reach 45 points out of a possible 48 with a victory on Sunday.  Credenhill Rangers are in the Sunday Cup final after having beaten The Lion in the first round so have the potential to win. They are currently 3rd in the table but could finish 2nd, depending on what happens in the game between Hereford City Harriers and Whitecross.
