Herefordshire County League Awarded Step 7 Status

County League Takes A Step Forward

Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division Awarded Step 7 Feeder League Status

Following a meeting of the FA’s Leagues Committee, the Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division has been granted Step 7 Feeder League status.

The Herefordshire FA are delighted to announce that as of the start of the 2021/22 season the Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division will hold Feeder League status, sitting at Step 7 of the National-League System. Applications were welcomed by the FA as part of the restructure that has seen the face of National League football change in recent weeks. This change offers the opportunity for the winners of the County Premier League to be promoted into Step 6 of the National League System and will also create funding opportunities for clubs through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, which can help teams meet Ground Grading requirements.

Chief Executive Alan Darfi said “We are delighted that the County League has been awarded Feeder League status and huge credit should go to the Secretary Ben Archer and Chair Colin Taylor. This provides a fantastic opportunity for County League clubs to be a part of the National League system, providing access to Step 6 and beyond. It reduces the travel constraints which may have prevented teams from pursuing these opportunities in the past and allows clubs greater access to funding to improve their facilities.”
