On Monday 25^th July 2022 we held a successful Club Development Evening at the Herefordshire FA SSAFA County Ground. As part of our FA Innovation Fund we held an evening for local coaches and club volunteers which included club safeguarding officers and secretaries from around Herefordshire.

The evening was well represented with 25 people registering for the Continued Performance Development (CPD) which was delivered by our HFA HFC Player Development Centre Technical Director Jonathan Nash. Inside our newly refurbished HFA Offices we presented our Club Development Guide, which saw Herefordshire FA staff members talk about their job roles and how we can support local teams within the County. Topics covered were safeguarding best practice, facility development, grassroots technology, making your club inclusive, with CPD based specifically around both the male and female game.

We were delighted to engage with so many different volunteers from grassroots clubs from around the County and we hope we have given them food for thought and direction for future opportunities we will offer.

In 2019 Herefordshire FA ran a successful club development roadshow with 75% of clubs that attended confirming they would want further Club Development Evenings so after lockdown we are excited to get back to meeting more grassroots clubs and those who work not only on the pitch but behind the scenes.

The feedback from the evening has been really positive, which has confirmed that the more events and roadshows we can deliver it will only have a positive effect in the local footballing community.

Football is nothing without the volunteers at grassroots clubs.
