Level 1- Futsal

Futsal

Fast-Paced and exciting, Futsal could be for you.

Try something new, Try Futsal

Futsal is the format of Small Sided Football that is recognised and supported by FIFA and UEFA. There is a UEFA Futsal Cup for clubs, and UEFA Futsal Championships and FIFA World Championship for national teams.

Futsal is a fast, skillful and exciting small sided style of football that is hugely beneficial in developing technical skills and ability in high pressure situations. It's a superb game in its own right but is also an excellent way to develop football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a-side game.

With world heavyweights such as Pele, Messi, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Xavi all singing the praises of futsal it is easy to see why it is seen as a key means of developing players skills and ball control. Futsal is different to standard five-a-side as it is played with a size 4 ball with reduced bounce and with clear touchlines (no rebounds). This, combined with the surface and rules create an emphasis on creativity, control and technique.

Futsal is highly recommened for both junior and adult players looking to develop their skills or just play an alternative type of football. Give it a try - Get in touch with Herefordshire FA!
