COURSE DETAILS

The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football course is being discontinued and will be replaced by the UEFA C Licence, which will launch in 2022.

The UEFA C Licence will blend e-learning, mentoring and on-the-pitch development to help you build and shape your own philosophy as a football coach. More updates will become available shortly.

Course Pre-requisites

Prior to registration, learners must:

  • be accurately identified
  • be at least 16 years of age
  • have completed the 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football
  • be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).
  • hold an in date FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) (previously known as FA Emergency Aid)
  • hold a current certificate for The FA Safeguarding Children Course, The FA Safeguarding Children How We Support or The FA Online Safeguarding Children Recertification
  • regularly coaching a group of players in England who are aged u7+ and whom regularly play in organised/competitive fixtures in order to complete the assessed project and thus be eligible to complete the qualification

Outcomes

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate a series of progressive football coaching sessions independently
  • Consider the age, ability, maturity and experience of players in your care

Level 2 Full Dates

The FA are currently reviewing the Coach Education programme including the design and delivery of the FA Level 2. We will know more about how Level 2 courses are offered later in the year.

FAQS

Yes, Coaches are required to complete all the blocks of the FA Level 2 starting with Block 1 "How We Coach". Coaches who have completed their Youth Award Module may be able to join the course during block 2 or 3.

Coaches that have completed either their FA Level 2 Block 1 or their Youth Award Module 1 (YAM 1) can enroll onto Block 2.

If you have already got your YAM 2 you can enroll straight on to block 3 of the FA Level 2 course. Coaches with their YAM 1 are still required to take block 2 if they want to complete their FA Level 2
