Fownhope FC Visited by HFA Roadshow

On Monday 21st August, we held our first Football Roadshow at Fownhope Football Club. There was a fantastic turnout, with 24 boys and girls attending…

They all had a great time, taking part in various football activities and fun games, all of which provided a perfect introduction to junior Football. At the end of the Roadshow all of the children received a certificate of attendance along with a Football goody bag. The event was a great success and everyone had an enjoyable morning:

“Both my daughters, aged 7 and 4, had a great time and have both now expressed an interest to join a football club. The session was well organised whilst fun for the children, all the coaches made everyone feel very welcome and the girls were very impressed with their goody bags”

Our Football Roadshows, have been set up to try and increase participation in both boys and girls junior Football around the County. We are specifically looking to support clubs that are low on numbers, lacking junior teams or aiming to start a junior section. We aim to assist clubs by creating a link with local schools, and provide engaging, inclusive and most importantly a fun football session, in a safe environment by FA Qualified coaches.

The anticipated outcome is that following each roadshow, there we will be a group of children who have enjoyed their first introductory experience of Football, and may be considering joining a Football Club. The HFA will then support the club following the Roadshow, to encourage volunteers/coaches that can assist junior teams moving forward.

We now have a full schedule of Football Roadshows booked in for the 2017/18 season. Our next roadshow will be arriving in Ross-on-Wye during half term on Monday 23rd October, with further details being released in due course.

We would like to thank our partners Beyond Storage, whose support has been vital to making the Roadshows a success.
