Herefordshire FA AGP Announcement
The Herefordshire FA is delighted to announce that our plans to build an Artificial Grass Pitch on our County Ground site were unanimously approved at Tuesday’s meeting of the Herefordshire County Council Planning and Regulatory Committee. At the same committee meeting, Pegasus Juniors also unanimously saw approval for their AGP plans.
Work is planned to commence during 2019, with hopes that the surface will be ready for the commencement of the 2019-2020 season. This pitch will be a real community facility, linking in with key clubs and partners from within the local area to provide a facility that is accessible for all.
The Herefordshire FA have been trying for several years to find a site, with many options being considered, so it is fantastic news to finally receive this approval. “This is fantastic news for grassroots football in Herefordshire, we have now passed a major hurdle in order to deliver this exciting new project. You only need to look at recent postponements across the county to understand how important these new facilities will be. Both projects have received fantastic support locally and we are extremely positive that participation will grow as a result, led by a number of new initiatives and community projects.” Herefordshire FA CEO, Jonny Walker.
The Herefordshire FA would like to place on record its thanks to everyone who has helped support the project so far, including our local ward member Polly Andrews, Herefordshire Council Planning, The Football Foundation, our key partners, Hereford Lads Club and our other local clubs as well as the wider community.
