Herefordshire FA apply to be a Wildcats Centre Girls Football

Become a part of the SSE Wildcats Movement!

Have fun, make friends, play football

The application window for organisations who would like to deliver an SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre opens on 5th November 2018. We are looking for new clubs and partners to join the programme and help inspire girls aged 5-11 to get involved in football.

Over the past two seasons the FA and SSE have developed an initiative designed to introduce girls aged between 5 and 11 to football. These SSE Wildcats Centres provide regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun, safe and engaging environment. In 2018 over 20,000 girls were introduced to football through a Wildcats Centre and we are now looking for even more organisations to grow this number further!

Each SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre will be run with the full support of Herefordshire FA who will help with Wildcats specific training, mentoring, promotion and resources. All new centres will also be able to access funding and kit from the FA to help with the start up and running of their centre. It doesn’t matter if you don’t currently offer any female football, Wildcats is the ideal place to get started. Whether you’re a football club, coaching deliverer or other organisation looking to grow the female game in Herefordshire then register your interest and we will be in touch with all the info you need!

What is a SSE Wildcats Centre

Wildcats Centres offer weekly football sessions, either after school or at weekends, to girls between the ages of 5 and 11. They provide a safe environment for girls to have fun engaging with sport, make new friends, develop fundamental skills and create a lifelong love of football.

We want our Wildcats Centres to be community focussed, inclusive and accessible to all which is why we will be utilising qualified coaches and local facilities across Herefordshire. With an emphasis on fun and top quality coaching our Wildcats centres will provide girls with the best possible introduction to football.

Last season we ran 6 Wildcats in Herefordshire which provided over 110 girls with a taste of football for the first time and led to the creation of 5 new teams in the Herefordshire Girls League. This season we want to double that!
