HFA County Cup Semi-Final

Weekend Fixture Picks 9th-10th March

Our weekly round up of the key clashes and battles from across the HFA County League

Want to go and watch some local football this weekend? We've picked out some key fixtures spread across Friday-Sunday for you to check out in the County League and HFA Cups

Premier: Westfields Reserves vs Wellington Reserves

Last season these two sides finished with identical league records, meaning Westfields were pipped to the title thanks to Wellington’s superior goal difference. When these two sides met last season on both occasions the home team won (Wellington 5-1 and Westfields 6-2 victors). This season, the first match was a closer affair with Wellington recording a 3-2 win. Neither team will be looking for less than 3pts as they aim to keep pace with Clee Hill.

Div 1: Hinton Res vs Wellington Colts

It’s a huge weekend in Division 1 with all the top four in action against each other. Ludlow Town Colts travel to Shobdon, in a replay of their recent Junior Cup semi-final, and Hinton Reserves take on Wellington Colts. Hinton and Wellington both had a week off last week, so this is their chance to get March off to a winning start. Wellington are in the unusual position of being third in the table despite a -1 goal difference and a win here would bring them level on points with Hinton with a game in hand.

Div 2: Civil Service vs Dore Valley

Civil Service were top of the table until recently but a loss and a draw following 5 consecutive wins has allowed Lads Club Colts to replace them at the top. Dore Valley meanwhile come into this game having suffered a shock loss to Withington in their last league game. Both these sides were in Ross Cup action last weekend with contrasting fortunes as Civil Service were beaten by Ross Jrs whilst DV triumphed over Ledbury Town Reserves. This should be a real battle between the two title contenders.

Sunday: Dorstone vs Whitecross

Dorstone and Whitecross are both new teams in the Sunday League for 2018/19 and have played each other 4 times this campaign. Dorstone won the first meeting 9-3 before securing a 3-0 victory in the Sunday Cup. Since then Whitecross have had the upper hand picking up 6 of their 7pts against Dorstone. With the Sunday season coming to an end, these two will want to add to their debut season points tally.
