Exciting new opportunities to help shape football in the County
The HFA Council is a key part of the HFA’s decision-making process, providing input and feedback to the HFA Board from all parts of the game.
In 2020, the HFA agreed that it would work towards achieving the Football Association’s Governance Code. This Code sets out a wide-range of measures, intended to ensure best-practice governance and decision-making.
As part of this, the HFA is delighted to confirm details of its refreshed Council structure, including how you can get involved.
From the AGM in June 2022, individuals on the HFA’s Council will represent various parts of the game. This role will involve liaising with the game to ensure views are sought and represented, then reporting back.
As part of these changes, the HFA is keen to ensure that all groups are represented. Individuals are therefore being sought to represent the following areas:
- Grassroots Clubs
- Referees
- Coaches
- Players
- ‘Other’ (those who do not fall into the above categories but feel they are able to contribute)
Anyone interested should complete the short application form here
Please complete this by no later than 5 January 2021. All applications will be considered by the HFA Board and are subject to Board approval.
Council meets in the evening a few times a year, with a range of committees also being set up to ensure views are represented across specific areas of the game, such as competitions, development and discipline.
Successful applicants will be appointed from the AGM in 2022, subject to completion of a Code of Conduct and relevant safeguarding training.
The role is voluntary, with Council members being entitled to free access to fixtures across the County. The ability to join meetings online is available and the dress code for meetings is now smart casual, rather than HFA blazer and tie.
It is an exciting time to be joining the HFA, we'll look forward to hearing from you.
