The Herefordshire Football Association and Avara Foods are delighted to confirm details of the inaugural Thank You Trophy, a small-sided festival launching on 17 July 2022, with all proceeds going to the Wye Valley NHS Trust and SSAFA Herefordshire, the Armed Forces Charity.

The festival will take place at the HFA SSAFA County Ground off of Widemarsh Common in Hereford, with both a 6-a-side male and 6-a-side female tournament running. Entry is £50 per team, with a number of free entry places available to teams that entirely represent key worker groups. Prizes will include a cash donation to a charity picked by each winning team.

The festival kicks off at 10am and all teams will play a minimum of 4 fixtures, with a number of other activities planned for the day to keep the whole family entertained.

‘As we emerge from the other side of the Covid pandemic, we at the HFA wanted to find a way to say thank you to key workers who have provided such essential services, during what has been a torrid time for the country.

The Thank You Trophy will become an annual event, with all proceeds going to charities which support key worker services, as well as our main partner, SSAFA Herefordshire, the Armed Forces Charity.

We are really grateful to Avara Foods for supporting the event, with their generous support ensuring that every penny from the entry fees will go directly to the charities, as well as any additional income generated on the day.
