HFA confirms appointment of new Designated Safeguarding Officer

Kim Clay joined the HFA this week

The HFA is delighted to confirm that, following a comprehensive recruitment process, a new Designated Safeguarding Officer has started this week.

Kim Clay joins the HFA from West Mercia Women’s Aid where she was a Safeguarding Officer for 7 years. Prior to this, Kim held similar roles at Herefordshire Council and Widemarsh Children’s Centre. Kim has been involved in local football for many years and is looking forward to meeting the wider football network in her new role.

Kim said ''I am excited to join the team as a Designated Safeguarding Officer. I have worked locally in Herefordshire supporting children and families for over 10 years. I am particularly passionate about creating safe and inclusive environments for all children to enjoy and thrive. I love how football has the potential to raise self-esteem, confidence and a sense of belonging in our children.

I understand my responsibility as a parent as well as a professional in role modelling and raising awareness of good practice and ensuring positive experiences for all, throughout the footballing community.''

Kim can be contacted via safeguarding@herefordshirefa.com as normal.
