HFA CEO VACANCY
Herefordshire FA is seeing to recruit an inspiring, dynamic and motivated individual to be its next Chief Executive Officer.
The HFA was formed in 1893 and is the not-for-profit governing body for football in Herefordshire, responsible for governing, developing and supporting the game across the County.
The HFA employs a core team of 6 and operates from recently redeveloped facilities at the SSAFA County Ground in Hereford, which include a state-of-the-art 3G pitch.
The HFA team delivers across its core areas of Football Development (players, facilities, coaches and workforce), Football Services (affiliation, facility hire and league support) and Safeguarding. The HFA delivers to 6000 players as well as coaches, referees, volunteers, clubs and leagues.
The HFA prides itself on key partnerships that are in place and has delivered a range of health and wellbeing projects, using the power of football to change lives.
The current CEO is departing to take on a senior role at the FA. The past 4 years have been transformational for the HFA, and the new CEO will be taking on a well-functioning organisation with a driven and motivated team that is frequently acknowledged as delivering best-practice work across the County FA network.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Leading delivery of The FA Grassroots Football Strategy and the Herefordshire FA Business Strategy.
- Day-to-day running of the Herefordshire FA, spearheading strategic direction and culture.
- Acting as the Senior Safeguarding Lead (SSL) position as outlined in The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs (Safeguarding 365), overseeing effective safeguarding delivery across the Herefordshire FA and grassroots football.
- Managing and operating internal financial management processes.

Location - SSAFA County Ground, Widemarsh Common, Hereford, HR4 9NA. The opportunity to work from home may be reviewed, considered and agreed, where applicable, on a case by case basis. However, there is an expectation that the successful application will be based in the office for the majority of the time
Working hours – 37.5 hours per week
Annual leave – 25 days plus bank holidays
Salary - £47,000
