St Mary's vs Whitecross U15 HSFA final

There are two types of insurance policies required for the 2020/21 season.

A) Personal accident insurance - this provides protection for someone who is injured in an accident whilst participating in a club activity. This policy could provide either a lump sum benefit or weekly amount (dependent on the cover selected).

Personal Accident insurance protects players, committee members, managers, trainers and assistant referees/officials in the event of an accident arising from football activities.

Since the 2017/18 season, the FA ruled to make personal accident insurance mandatory for all age groups and formats of football, including youth.

Cover is purchased when your club affiliate to the Association and full details are shown on the Affiliation form. Personal Accident Insurance is provided by Bluefin.

B) Legal liability insurance - this provides protection against any claims made by third parties against you e.g. claims for slips and trips or damage to third party property as a result of your negligence.

The FA appointed insurance broker Bluefin Sport provide insurance for the grassroots game through the National Game Insurance Scheme (NGIS).

NGIS appointed Insurance Provider Bluefin Sport offer exclusive, robust and competitive insurance products, specifically tailored to provide more affordable solutions to grassroots football. For queries about Public Liability Insuance please contact Bluefin Sport.

Personal Accident insurance will be included in your affiliation. When your club/team completes their affiliation for the season they will be able to choose the level of cover required.

Adult and youth teams now require personal accident insurance as well as public liability insurance. Both types of insurance are compulsory

In 2011, The FA set out to raise the standards of insurance and provide a uniformity of cover across the grassroots game that hadn’t been seen before.
The overarching objective for the NGIS has been to ensure that competitive and robust insurance products, specifically tailored to the needs of grassroots football, were made available to all.
Bluefin Sport is The FA’s appointed insurance broker to deliver the NGIS.
The NGIS provides two core covers - Legal Liability and Personal Accident.
A group liability policy is available for clubs affiliated to Herefordshire FA to opt-in to, should they wish to. Clubs wishing to opt-in to the NGIS group liability policy should do so via the Whole Game System, at affiliation stage.
All affiliated football teams must have personal accident insurance, which meets the minimum requirements of Herefordshire FA.
A group personal accident policy is available for teams affiliated to Herefordshire FA to opt-in to, should they wish. Teams wishing to opt-in to the NGIS group personal accident policy should do so via affiliation to Herefordshire FA.
Top-up personal accident insurance is available to purchase from Bluefin Sport, either online, or by completing an Application Form, and returning it to them in the post.
