The football season finally returned last weekend with the majority of the county’s non-league teams kicking off and recording some encouraging results along the way. Now, with just 10 days until the first weekend in the HFA County League Premier Division, fixtures have been released.

The first round of fixtures will be played on Saturday 18^th August with 10 of the 13 teams in action. Reigning Champions Wellington Rangers have been given a bye so will be watching the opening weekend results with interest. Their first match as they look to retain their title will instead take place on the 25^th August against Charity Bowl finalists Ledbury Town. Ledbury have a tough start to the campaign as they also face last season’s Runners Up Westfields Reserves in their opening fixture on the 18^th.

The premier division welcomes newly promoted Kingstone Rovers who will be aiming to build on their impressive Div 1 League and Junior Cup double. They will host Fownhope on the opening weekend in their first fixture. Also new to the league are Clee Hill United who have been accepted into the Premier Division after a respectable 4^th placed finish in the Shropshire Premier Division last season. The Shropshire side will be pleased to get one of the longer trips out of the way early as they travel to Ewyas Harold for their Herefordshire debut. With Holme Lacy facing Charity Bowl Champions Malvern Town Reserves and Tenbury Town hosting Hinton, there will be 5 fixtures taking place on the opening weekend. Kington and Tenbury United are the other two sides who will be eagerly waiting to get their seasons up and running

The Premier Division looks strong and competitive this season and all the teams will be hoping for a positive start to their campaigns. The fixtures for the remaining divisions will be announced in due course and we hope the remainder of your pre-season goes well as we look forward to the start of the County League season ahead.
