HSFA U15 vs Warwickshire Schools U15
This was Herefordshire U15s second league game of the season and their first at home.
The first half an hour produced few chances for both teams with the clearest being a fine save by the Herefordshire goalkeeper Marshall Jones from a header. In a well contested half there were many full blooded challenges one of which resulted in Herefordshire forwards Harvey Vaughan having to come off injured. Five minutes before half time Warwickshire took the lead with a through ball and fine finish. Herefordshire started the second half off well with Cawley Cox having a chance but couldn't quite get a shot off in time. However, it was Warwickshire who extended their lead soon after a defensive error. This seemed to 'knock the stuffing ' out of Herefordshire and Warwickshire went on to score some fine goals and eventually ran out 7 0 winners. This was a game where Herefordshire gave their all, competing for the majority of the match but came across a physically and psychologically stronger team. A good learning curve which this team will need to build on for their next game against Staffordshire away.
