Inspired by the World Cup? Get Involved!

Find out all the ways you can get into football and show your support to the Lionesses!
If all the buzz around the FIFA Womens World Cup has made you fall in love with the beautiful game, and you’re looking to get involved we’re here to help! Read on for all the information you need on supporting the Lionesses this summer and giving football a try yourself!
  • Watch England as they try to win the FIFA World Cup in France.
All the England games will be live on BBC Sport, and with the friendly time difference with France, the tournament is more accessible than ever! With England hoping to go the whole way, this is a great opportunity to get behind the national team again (we all remember last summer!). You can keep an eye on the schedule (including all the England games) on the BBC website.
  • Give football a try!
Female football is bigger than ever and no matter how old you are, or how inexperienced there is an opportunity for you to play football locally in Herefordshire!
Girls aged 5-11 can join in the fun at one of our Wildcats Girls Football Centres. They offer the perfect introduction to girls of all abilities. Every session is delivered by an FA Qualified coach with a focus on fun, making friends and developing fundamental skills.

Girls aged 12-16 can also get involved at one of the several girls football clubs spread across Herefordshire. They are always eager to hear from new players and get them playing football!

There are plenty of opportunities available to adults no matter how experienced they are. From walking football to development clubs and regional teams, if you want to play football we can recommend the perfect club for you.

  • Try our Wildcats to World Cup programme.
We are excited to be running a unique Wildcats to World Cup programme as part of our partnership with our 6 Wildcats Centres. Girls aged 5-11 attend 5 weeks of football training at one of the 6 wildcats centres and are then invited to our special Wildcats World Cup! Wildcats will play a series of games, take part in some World Cup themed activity and then have a party watching the World Cup Final. (Fingers Crossed England are there!)
  • Send us your photos of you supporting the #Lionesses.
Throughout the World Cup we want you to show your support to the England Women’s team as they compete for the biggest prize available in football. Send us a photo or video of you in your England gear or doing your best Lioness impression and we will share all the best ones we receive! You might even win a prize.
