Herefordshire FA COVID-19 Update 17 March 2020
Following the latest guidance from the Government, The FA confirmed yesterday evening that all grassroots football has been postponed, for the foreseeable future.
Accordingly, we can confirm that all competitive/friendly football is postponed from today. This is inclusive of all Herefordshire FA sanctioned leagues. The FA guidance has not explicitly stated that training should also be cancelled, therefore, for now, this is ultimately a decision for Clubs to make. However, when doing so, we would strongly encourage all Clubs to bear in mind the latest guidance from Government, particularly in relation to non-essential contact and unnecessary travel.
As you will be aware the guidance being issued is developing regularly, we will update you when further guidance is issued.
Given the latest guidance from both the Government and FA, all of our Education Courses and Football Development activities will also be suspended during this time and will result in any courses, training or CPD events scheduled, being re-arranged for a later date. Where we can deliver via alternative methods such as the internet or phone, we will try and do so.
Until such time as the guidance issued confirmed otherwise, the HFA offices will remain open and staffed. However, appropriate measures are in place to ensure that any visitors comply with the appropriate NHS guidance and also to ensure that the wellbeing of the team is protected. This will include some members of the team working from home, however they will remain contactable by email or phone.
As soon as we know more we will update you. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. We hope you and your families remain well and, if you have not already done so, we would encourage you to review the current NHS guidance: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
