Herefordshire braced for County Cup Finals

Venues and dates confirmed for the Herefordshire FA County Cups

With the 2020/21 football season drawing near to its conclusion, Herefordshire FA are now able to confirm details of the County Cup Finals. After a turbulent campaign, clubs have continued to battle it out for a place in one of the showpiece finals which will take place throughout the month of May.

After the disappointment of last season’s competitions being curtailed at the semi-final stage, Herefordshire FA are delighted to confirm that Hereford FC have once again agreed to host the County Challenge, Women’s County and Giantkillers Cups at their famous Edgar Street ground. The Youth Cup, U16s Girls Cup, Junior Cup and Charity Bowl will all be held on the Herefordshire FA AGP for the first time.

Jamie Griffiths, General Manager at Hereford FC stated;

“We’re delighted that Edgar Street will once again be playing host to a number of HFA Finals and we’re looking forward to welcoming all six teams involved throughout the week.

“We want to give as many players as possible the chance to experience playing at Edgar Street, whilst at the same time continue to grow our relationships with our neighbouring teams and Herefordshire FA.”

“We’d like to wish all those who have reached the finals the very best of luck.”

Alan Darfi, CEO at Herefordshire FA added;

It is fantastic that we’re able to once again host a number of our cup competition finals at Edgar Street and huge thanks go to Hereford FC for making this possible, despite the challenges of Covid. Playing at Edgar Street is a highlight for many players and the Club could not have been more helpful in terms of making this possible.

“It is also great that we are able to host competitions at the County Ground, on our fantastic 4G pitch.”

“We’ll look forward to welcoming back spectators across our cup finals in what should prove a fitting celebration to end the season.”

All finals promise to be fantastic occasions to positively round off what has been a challenging year for all, best of luck to all involved”

All County Cup Finals will be held with measures in place to minimise the risks associated with COVID-19 and in line with FA, public health and DCMS guidelines.
