Grassroots Awards 2021
HFA announced The FA and McDonalds Grassroots Award 2021 winners for Herefordshire.
In what has been a challenging 18 months with COVID and a National lockdown it proved how important volunteers, coaches, players are to grassroots football. With everything on hold we saw communities and local teams come together to support each other’s physical and mental well-being.
It hasn’t gone unnoticed all the incredible work and commitment of football clubs and volunteers who give up their time and make a long-lasting impact on junior and senior people within Herefordshire.
The nominations this year were extremely high and the panel had some really tricky decisions to make on who should win the awards, but we are delighted to give you The FA and McDonalds Grassroots Award Winners 2021;
Alan Darfi the HFA CEO said about our winners; ‘’on behalf of the Herefordshire Football Association, many congratulations on what is a really well-deserved award. Local football is in a really good shape, despite the huge impact of the covid pandemic, and a huge amount of that is down to the tireless work of our fantastic grassroots volunteers. It is clear from this award that you are leading the way and I would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank you for all that you do. Football simply wouldn’t exist without people like you and you should be rightfully proud of this recognition’’
We will be following up with all the winners where we will be looking to interview them, their clubs/leagues, other volunteers associated with them. So we can promote all the good things they do and to let you know what made them worthy winners.
Over the next few weeks please keep your eyes peeled as we concentrate on our eight winners in greater detail. Congratulations to all our winners and just shows that football is nothing without grassroots football and all the volunteers, players, coaches and supporters that are involved.
