Thank You Trophy a Success
On Sunday 16th July 2023, we hosted the 2nd ever Avara Foods Thank You Trophy which sees teams compete in a tournament format to be crowned the winners. All the entry fees go towards charity, along with £100 to a charity of the winner’s choice.
20 teams competed throughout the day, in what was a fantastic event for football and charities. Teams entering on behalf of local clubs, Super 6’s teams, our sponsors Avara and players coming together to form teams for the day.
AFC Elite came out on top as they defeated Below Average 3-0 in the final to take the trophy. As a result of this, they could choose a charity to donate £100 to. The winning team chose St Michael’s Hospice as the recipients. We also raised £1000 which was split evenly between the NHS and SSAFA. We are proud to be able to hold such an event with money going towards these charities to support the fantastic work they do.

“We are always delighted to host the Thank You Trophy at HFA and it really was great to see so many teams take part this year. A big thank you to Avara Foods Ltd for sponsoring and supporting this tournament, alongside Steve, Martin and the referees from the HFA Super 6s who organised the day. It is really important to recognise the good work that all our NHS providers do for Herefordshire and we are always happy to continue our support towards SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity and fundamentally raise some money for two great causes. Football brings people together and this was the first year we had a refugee team take part which is great to see how inclusive this tournament has already become.”
